2019 ‘Sounds of Summer’
The Local 17 Music Fund and the City of Erie are partnering to present the 2019 ‘Sounds of Summer’ Concert Series. This series consists of seven concerts on Mondays at 7:00 pm beginning June 3rd through July 22.

Senior Center Outreach
The Local 17 Music Fund provides funding for the live performance of music to residents of senior centers, nursing homes and assisted living centers in Erie County. In 2017-18 the Local 17 Music Fund sponsored more than 25 performances throughout Erie and the surrounding area.

The MPTF Musicianfest Program
The Local 17 Music Fund is a proud participant in the Music Performance Trust Fund’s ‘Musicianfest’ program, which provides funds for senior center concerts throughout the United States.

In the 2018/19 fiscal year the music fund and the MPTF sponsored multiple concerts at senior centers including:

Harborcreek Senior Living
Mercy Senior Center
Independence Court
St. Mary’s Home of Erie
Parkside Westminster
Regency Southshore
Niagara Village

Community and Educational Outreach
The Local 17 Music Fund provides funding for community concerts free and open to the public. In 2018 the Music fund and the Music Performance Trust Fund (MPTF) will provide funding for the Mid-day Art Breaks presented by the Eire Philharmonic and the Erie Art Museum as well as concerts presented by local church groups.

The music fund would like to expand its community outreach to include concerts and workshops designed to introduce elementary school age children to jazz and classical music by providing concerts and workshops that would otherwise be unavailable.

Music Lessons
In the future (funding permitted) the Music Fund would like to provide music lessons to under served students who are unable to afford the cost of instruments and/or music lessons.

Your donation is tax deductible. The Local 17 Music Fund is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which means all contributions to this organization are tax deductible as a charitable donation.
