Donate to the Local 17 Music Fund
The Local 17 Music Fund Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in November 0f 2015 and sponsored by the Local 17 American Federation of Musicians.
The Mission Statement of the Local 17 Music Fund Inc. is to promote and foster the knowledge, education, appreciation, understanding, enjoyment and live performance of music.
Senior Center Outreach
The Local 17 Music Fund provides funding for the live performance of music to residents of senior centers, nursing homes and assisted living centers in Erie County. In 2017-18 the Local 17 Music Fund sponsored more than 25 performances throughout Erie and the surrounding area.
The MPTF Musicianfest Program
Grants totaling more than $3700.00 for senior center concerts have been approved by the Music Performance Trust Fund and the Local 17 Music Fund for the 2018/19 fiscal year.
Community and Educational Outreach
The Local 17 Music Fund provides funding for community concerts free and open to the public. In 2017 the Music fund and the Music Performance Trust Fund (MPTF) provided funding for the Mid-day Art Breaks presented by the Eire Philharmonic and the Erie Art Museum as well as concerts presented by the Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park (LEAF).
The music fund would like to expand its community outreach to include concerts and workshops designed to introduce elementary school age children to jazz and classical music by providing concerts and workshops that would otherwise be unavailable.
In the future (funding permitted) the Music Fund would like to provide music lessons to under served students who are unable to afford the cost of instruments and/or music lessons.
Your donation is tax deductible. The Local 17 Music Fund is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which means all contributions to this organization are tax deductible as a charitable donation.
